Paper: The materiality of analog objects in digital environments, the case of lantern slides

iawis_aierti-logoIAWIS/AIERTI, the International Association of Word and Image Studies / Association Internationale pour l’Etude des Rapports entre Texte et Image seeks to foster the study of Word and Image relations in a general cultural context and especially in the arts in the broadest sense. IAWIS/AIERTIs XIth Conference “La reproduction des images et des textes | Images and texts reproduced” will be held at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland).
Sarah Dellmann from the Research Team Utrecht will present the paper “The Materiality of Analog Objects in Digital Environments: The Case of Digital Reproductions of Photographic Lantern Slides” in the Panel “Materiality–Immateriality in Reproduction”. In her presentation, Sarah Dellmann will combine hands-on experience from digitization with epistemological questions and problematize various aspects of materiality and immateriality in the production and online publication of digital reproductions of photographic lantern slides.
