Additional Activities

You can visit Phoenix Paper Theatre during the lunch breaks on Wednesday 30 Aug and Thursday 31 Aug (2 minutes walk from the conference location, 7 minutes walk to the lunch location). The guided tour lasts 30 minutes, groups are limited to 15 people. Please indicate in the registration form if you wish to attend. This visit is free to participants of the conference. The theatre is located on the first floor, there is no elevator.
Our partners at the University Museum Utrecht offer a free guided tour behind the scenes through the depot, where more than 350 years of academic heritage are preserved. This guided tour will take place on Monday, 28 August (15:00-16:00, if there are more than 30 registrations a second tour will be offered from 16:00-17:00). The depot of Utrecht University Museum is located at the main campus at the Uithof. The depot is not at the same location as the visitor’s premises of Utrecht University Museum! Meeting point for the tour will be the entrance of Caroline Bleekergebouw, Sorbonnelaan 4, 3584 CA Utrecht.
The closest bus stop is “Utrecht Botanische Tuinen” (Bus 28 from Central Station or Janskerkhof in direction “De Uithof P&R via Rijnsweerd”). The bus ride takes circa 10 minutes. Please do not confuse “Botanische Tuinen” (botanical gardens) with the “Oude Hortus” (old botanical garden, located in the city centre as part of Utrecht University Museum!). This visit is also free for participants of the conference and can be booked via the registration form.

University Museum Utrecht also offers free entrance to the museum for conference delegates to the Museum, from 28 August – 2 September. Utrecht University Museum is located at Lange Nieuwstraat 106, at the Southern end of the city centre. The museum is opened daily form 10:00 – 17:00. You will have free access when showing your conference bag.

We also have vouchers for 25% discount for a Tour up the Dom tower. You can get one of those vouchers at the conference information desk.
